neighbours bombshell

So Anna and I are sitting on the balcony of the Marina Bar having breakfast, overlooking the yachts on a sunny Saturday morning, when Anna says to me,
"Kenny, if in the future we have two children, and one's a girl and the other a boy, can we call the girl Libby and the boy Drew?"

Hey, did you guys know that 'Drew' is now in Casualty?!

I gotta get me one of those deaths and marriages DVDs you have!

Man, that's some weird stuff going on in your wife's head. I clearly remember her & Naomi coming over to my house to watch the Neighbours episode where Libby & Drew got back together; I left them with the box of tissues & exited pronto. And that was the 2nd time they'd watched the episode that day!

Anyhow, it's also pretty messed-up to name your kids after a couple (e.g. Romeo & Juliet, Clark & Lois, or Homer & Marge); that's just gross.

I have no more to say on the subject.

Be quite Bennett - those who are not absorbed by the all consuming rightnous that is neighbours will not understand. Brilliant Idea, just wish I'd thought of it first. Daphnne and Des would be good as well, although they'de have the same intials which may be confusing.

Libby Robertson - obviously a famous journalist (add Anne as a middle name for a laugh)

Drew Robertson - definitely a rugby player and/or a boatsman

The names are fine and in 10 years no one will know that the names arose from Neighbours - though the mention of Daphne and Des might question that one!

(google image both names: its interesting!)

But I'm guessing that what freaked Kenny out is the mention of children not the source of their names!

Now just hang about here! This is going much further than I had anticipated. Firstly, suggesting MORE names, and THEN putting our surname on the end?!?!

Andy was right - I got as far as hearing "Kenny, if... children..." and I was on a whole different thought plane!
